The volunteer programme in Bolivia !

volunteer program in BoliviaYou can learn Spanish and discover little known Bolivia by combining language study with a period of social volunteering. You will live amongst the people, experience the culture and you will practice the Spanish language while giving your time to a worthwhile project.

The aim of this project is to help the indigenous populations increase their quality of life and find other sources of income through sustainable development using natural ressources and tourism all while keeping their identity and culture and respecting the nature. The 230 Tacana indians who live in the national park have, with help from local NGOs, built an eco-lodge (housing) about 15 minutes from their village.

The lodge counts 7 huts, all located in the forest. They all have electricity in the evening, seperate toilets, a shower and a small terrasse. There is also a small restaurant and a traditionnal hut in which there is a small bar and an exibition about the Tacana's life and culture. This hut also serves as a shop, in which handicrafts are sold.

You will get a unique view of the indigenous way of life. You must be ready to adapt to a very basic lifestyle, all former participants agree to saying that adaptability is the key to success in this programme.

Ecovolunteering in BoliviaThe Tacanas are quite shy and you might need a little time to gain their trust. You must arm yourself with patience and willingly take part of every-day tasks, you are not just a spectator!

By participating in the volunteer programme, you will be able to practice Spanish in everyday life situations expand your vocabulary, but also gain experience while participating in the development of a country which has its difficulties, but extends an extraordinary welcome.

We ask all of our volunteers to be respectful and understanding for the duration of their mission. If you choose to participate in the volunteer programme in Bolivia, you will receive a complete guide to the country, the mission, good advice and information before leaving.
