Volunteering in Ghana

Travel in Ghana for a life changing experience !

A lot of NGOs are involved in humanitarian actions in Ghana in favor of disadvantaged populations.

The contribution of international volunteers is very important to keep the programmes ongoing.

Get involved in a volunteer experience in the medical field, in education or many other projects and provide help to these NGOs who are working every day towards a better life for Ghaneans.

The official language is English. The country is now also a member of the international organization for French-speaking countries.

Travel to Ghana for a life changing experience, get off beaten tracks and discover an authentic country and an extraordinary culture during a humanitarian project.

The volunteer programme in Ghana !

Orphanage - Globalong Ghana

The programme starts every first and third Monday of each month. You must arrive the day before at Kotoka International Airport in Accra.
If your flight arrives late in the afternoon, as it is often the case with aircrafts from Europe, you will spend a night in Accra before being brought to your final destination the next day.
We will organize this first night in Accra, which is included in our rates.

The programme is international, and welcomes volunteers from all over the world.

Voluntary work in Ghana Africa with GlobalongMost projects take place in Kpando, in the central region of Kpando in the Volta region of Ghana.

Approximately 70.000 people live in the region, most of which speak Ewe - a language of West Africa, which is spoken by more than 6 million people.

Kpando is a region of savannah and forests, crossed by the Volta River.

The majority of the population work in agriculture, mining and fishing. The area is also known for its crafts in clay and wood.

Electricity and running water are available in Kpando.

Meals and accommodation in Ghana:

Accommodation depends on the placement that you choose. For most tasks, you will be staying with a Ghanaian host family. Generally families host several volunteers at the same time and at least one member of the family speaks English. Contact with the family is usually quite limited and you will have your meals with the other volunteers. For placements in orphanages or hospitals, you may be accommodated directly at your placement.
You will have 3 meals a day for the duration of the programme. The living conditions are adequate but do not expect luxury.
