Your volunteering programme in Namibia!

International volunteers in Namibia - GlobalongStarting your programme in Namibia:

Airport pick up at Windhoek International Airport will be organised for you.

The wildlife conservation centre, where all volunteers spend the first few nights, is only a 45 minutes’ drive away from the capital city of Windhoek.

This is where your induction period will take place so that international volunteers can learn about the local culture and customs together.

Medical care provided by trained volunteers - GlobalongAfter the induction period, volunteers go to their respective project locations:

  • volunteers involved in the wildlife conservation project remain in the Windhoek area – where the savannah and forests stretch along the Volta river
  • volunteers involved in the sports coaching programme go to the capital city of Windhoek
  • volunteers involved in the medical project go to the Omaheke region in eastern Namibia – a few hours’ drive away from Windhoek

Animal conservation programme - GlobalongFood and accommodation in Namibia:

Accommodation in Namibia varies according to the programme you have selected. You may stay in a shared room, bungalow or tent.

You will have full board (3 meals per day) throughout your volunteering programme, which will be a fantastic opportunity for you to discover Namibian cuisine.

*Please note that living conditions in Africa vary dramatically from those of Western countries. Even though local coordinators and host communities do their very best to welcome and accommodate international volunteers, you must expect quite basic living conditions on site.
