Spend time with children in orphanages in South India !

Thousands of Indian children live in orphanages, and local organizations lack resources and personnel. Most of these children come from poor families and their lives in the institution are much better than those they have known before.

Volunteer in South India GlobalongHaving no financial or material resources to enrol children in public schools, many orphanages have organized "parallel" learning centres, where volunteers can make a difference by teaching.

Most volunteers teach English, but tasks can vary according to the orphanage and the qualifications of each volunteer. You can also teach art, music, dance, sports and other recreational activities.

We may also ask you to participate in the daily life at the orphanage, helping with meals, toileting, maintenance, and any other duties as part of their daily routine.

Volunteers who are skilled in DIY can also help maintain the premises and the garden. Any improvement in the lives of these children is welcome and helps to provide a framework to make their lives more enjoyable.

The presence of volunteers gives these children a window on the world, and the prospect of a better future.

Globalong South India VolunteeringEven without special skills you can bring to the children what they need most: attention and affection.

Example of tasks:

  • Teaching English
  • Help in going to the toilet
  • Teaching basic hygiene
  • Playing with and giving attention to children
  • Teaching drawing or painting
  • Teaching music and singing
  • Helping with homework
  • Assisting with administrative tasks
  • And much more based on your individual skills and wishes, do not hesitate to bring along new ideas and take the initiative.

During the day, most older orphans go to school. Meanwhile, you could help the staff with the daily tasks, take care of the younger children or help teachers during class.
