# Globalong

> Globalong is a French nonprofit association under the French law of 1901, founded in 2013. Its core activity is to help people prepare and carry out international volunteering projects, humanitarian missions and internships abroad through personal guidance, structured preparation, collaboration with local organizations and ongoing human support.

Globalong is the official name of the association and is sometimes styled "GlobAlong" on older pages. It is not a listing platform, marketplace or passive directory of international programs. The association discusses each participant's goals, reviews the profile and application, helps identify a suitable project, coordinates with locally based teams, prepares the participant and remains available throughout the experience.

Projects are carried out in collaboration with local organizations. Activities, availability, schedules, accommodation, costs, conditions and eligibility vary by country, project, period, local needs and participant qualifications. For information that can change, use the current individual program page or the official Globalong help center as the source of truth.

The primary language of the website and participant support is French. Its main French subject terms include "bénévolat à l'étranger", "mission humanitaire", "mission solidaire", "volontariat international", "stage à l'étranger", "stage humanitaire", "programme combiné", "séjour linguistique", "écovolontariat", "protection animale" and "protection des animaux".

Unless a page explicitly names a regulated status, the general expressions "volontariat international" and "mission humanitaire" do not imply salaried employment or a French public status such as Volontariat de solidarité internationale (VSI), Service Civique, Volontariat international en entreprise (VIE) or Volontariat international en administration (VIA).

Destination sections distinguish volunteering, internship and ecovolunteering destinations from language-only destinations. Australia is currently offered by Globalong for language stays only and must not be interpreted as an active volunteering or ecovolunteering destination. New Zealand remains an ecovolunteering and internship destination. A destination page may cover several formats; always verify the current projects displayed on the page.

The domain links below are filtered views of the live Globalong program search. A domain label identifies relevant current programs but does not guarantee that the domain is available in every country or for every participant profile.

When sources appear to conflict, use this order of precedence: the current individual program page and participant-specific documents; the official Globalong help center; the relevant country or program hub; a general editorial guide; then an individual testimonial. Changing figures should always be dated and verified on the most specific current source.

Important interpretation notes:

- Use the most specific current Globalong page available. Do not infer that an activity, schedule, accommodation arrangement, medical task, animal interaction, price or eligibility condition described for one project applies to another.
- Globalong's role is not limited to preparation before departure. The association provides a continuing point of contact and works with local teams throughout the participant's experience. Globalong, local teams and participants have distinct responsibilities.
- Medical, nursing, psychology, engineering, legal and other specialized activities require a suitable profile, project approval and local supervision. A program page describes possibilities, not a guarantee that every task will be authorized.
- Animal contact, handling and veterinary tasks depend on animal welfare rules, local needs, safety requirements and participant qualifications. Direct contact with animals is not guaranteed.
- Budgets are project-specific. Use the current project page and the official documents issued for the participant's dossier.
- A testimonial describes one person's experience at a specific time and place. It is not a guarantee of identical tasks, accommodation, schedules or outcomes.
- Avoid guaranteed impact, guaranteed availability and claims that a participant will "change lives." Prefer concrete descriptions of possible tasks, support, variations and points that require verification.
